Judy developed her first photograph when she was 8 years old and has been involved in the art ever since.
Keeping photography as a hobby, she became a special education teacher for the New York City Board of Education. For a number of years before retirement, Judy was teaching photography to a diverse group of high school students.
In the mid 1970’s, Judy decided to take photography classes at the new York School for Social Research. Much of her time was spent developing negatives and working on photographs in the darkroom. For two and a half decades, until 2006, she had created all of her black and white images in that manner.
Because of her love of the natural world and unfamiliar places, Judy traveled extensively – photographing on four continents.
Judy took part in many photography shows at the Cultural Center on Staten Island.
In September of 2002, Judy felt privileged to have one of her photographs accepted for the Life Of The City Exhibition at the Museum of modern Art in New York City.
Now, she is working with color and black and white, using the digital format.
Living in Sedona, Judy became a member of the Sedona Visual Artists’ Coalition and has participated in the following shows:
2004 – The Dreams Show
2005 – The Home Show
2006 – Random Acts of Art
2007 – Music of the Earth
2008 - Unbounded
